As an artist, teacher, and art therapist, I am interested in storytelling and personal narratives. My art-making is motivated by an ongoing desire to understand myself, as well as a desire to be understood by others. I want to tell my stories in a way that makes sense to other people. I want people to know me and to let me know them. I want to feel that connection.

Sometimes I find myself in a moment, and I am so inspired that I have to make something right then. But whatever I make doesn’t seem real to me until I show it to someone. I think that’s proof of something.
